Trying to remember something about Michael Frayn I was looking at a comment on one of his books. When the reader described Frayn?’s book as ?“cognitive and incentive?” I decided I?’d encountered the most amazing malapropism I?’ll ever see or the worst case of thesaurus abuse on record.
