I hardly know where to begin. Like the Boys' and Girls' Handybooks, this hefty little book is full of ideas from a bygone era. Written in 1906, the activities are not always the kind of things our kids can do today...but this is a book of IDEAS! While you might not want to camp in a swamp, this book... more info

Most pop-up books are curiosities that don't really work as books to read...this one does! Funny words, fresh images, and 26 totally different pop-up creations. (That's 2-3 times the number of pop-up pages in most books.) You can really spend a while with it. I'd rank Alpha Bugs right up there with... more info

Cute book in regards to content. As for the giggle. It stopped working after being pushed 5 times. This is the second time I have tried to get this book, but the giggle battery dies out or malfuntions. Don't bother to waste your time and money.

I wrote the first review of this book above, but after more consideration, I'm downgrading it to 2 stars.
This book is obviously an atttempt to legitimize the TESOL field by the use of lofty language and faux-scholarly writing. TESOL instructors want to be taken seriously, as practitioners of a... more info

My 3 1/2yr old bug lover is enamored with this book (and Jingle Bugs too). He LOVES to sing the 12-bugs-of Christmas and it is good for his memory skills to try to remember them all. When he hears the 12-Days-of-Christmas on the radio, he always points out how it is so similar to HIS song! Ha!

A must have for the graphic designer. Good color and tons of nice samples. I work in a design studio and find this is one of the first publications the staff looks at for inspiration when starting a new project. I wanted my own copy but found out it's ....should I say more.

My 9 month old loves this book! I bought it thinking I would have to store it for a while, due to the delicate nature of some of the items to feel. I'm so glad I took it out. Every time I turn a page my son goes straight to the "feely" part of the bug and touches, rubs, flicks, etc. As long as you... more info

I bought this book for my two 1/2 yr old. She loved all popup style books. But this book you have to be careful with. Each page had a different style of pull out, pop up. But the paper is very thin and tears easily. Not for a child to look through them selfs. Even as an adult I have to be very... more info

This is a wonderful book, so cute, esp. the page which Old Macdonald driving its red tractor. My son just can't have enough of it but I agree, it's pretty delicate for a 2 years old to handle. whilst I'm typing this, my son just pointed at the book on the computer. Should definitley buy this book,... more info

this is an adorable book teaching words like on, out, over, under, etc. it is very small, however, and hard for little hands to use and the very young to focus on.

My 20 month old received this book from Santa. She LOVES it. It only took one time for her to figure out what she was supposed to do. SHe pulls this book off the shelf every night and morning and says "read this". My 3.5 yr old and my 20 month old can actually share this book, each turning flaps on... more info

This book is the best of a series of "the big book of.." by David E. Carter.
With its hefty selection of works to see and be inspired from, With clear sections and a selectiveness uncharacteristical of carter, this book can be used over and over again, and you can always find something new in... more info
