This Girl's Got To Play (MORE LEAD GUITAR):

I am a very big fan of Joyce Cooling, having all her CD's. I am
a guitar player as well. This new CD has some nice tracks: Expression,Camelback, Toast&Jam,to name a few. What I was hoping
for was to hear longer solos and more up-tempo tracks. Joyce is
such a fantastic player, and her band is superb. Although Joyce has a really nice voice, it's that fiery guitar that makes Joyce

A great CD for "chillin' out" to:

"This Girl's Got to Play" is one of those CDs I have been looking for to put in my collection. It's not the greatest CD I have ever heard, nor does it do anything groundbreaking in terms of smooth jazz, but it does an excellent job of making me want to listen to the CD over and over again. Songs such as "Expression", "Camelback", "Green Impala", and "Toast and Jam" is the typical Cooling guitar flair, which is a good thing. Very good CD, but....:

I have all of Joyce's albums and I think "This Girl's Got to Play" is right up there with "Third Wish". I especially enjoyed "Wizard", "Green Impala" and "Expression". I was disappointed that she did not really show her guitar acumen on more of the tracks. However, I think most Cooling fans will appreciate this CD. Joyce, please on future albums, do what you do so well in concert, scat and play. Enjoy!!
