Phenomenal Collection!:

I have been a Johnny Cash fan for 30+ years, and really liked his first four records on American. The Unearthed set is essentially another four great albums that have been released at once. I think the songs on Unearthed are certainly equal to those on American 1 - 4. My favorites are Cindy with Nick Cave, Chattanooga Sugar Babe, and Brown-Eyed Handsome Man with Carl Perkins.

The packaging is great. It is high quality, distinctive, and has a very informative book. I even think the fifth disc is a good... more info

I cried the day the Man in Black died and also after listening to this collection. Hard to imagine how the Neil Young covers didn't make it on any of the 4 "American Recordings". The booklet that comes with this box is worth the price of admission alone.
