A National Treasure:

Last year I rediscovered the Carter Family. This album is a new chapter in the rich musical history of June Carter Cash and her family. There is something for everyone. The Carter family fans will enjoy the remake of "Diamonds in the Rough", "Meeting in the Air", and "Will the Circle be Unbroken". "The Far Side Banks of Jordan", a duet with husband Johnny Cash, is by itself worth the price of admission, and you can just see, as well as hear, the love and admiration they have for each other. Clearing up the confusion:

If you're reading this page without having heard this CD, you're probably a bit confused by the reviews. Most of the reviewers gave the CD 4 or 5 stars and very high praise, but a few were very critical, giving it one or two stars. Let me see if I can help clear things up.

This album, "Press On," is such a gem. I bought this over two years ago, and it remains at the top of my CD collection, with a scratched surface and dog-eared liner notes. I will say that it took me a second listen to "get into" it - when I first listened to it, I was wondering if the record store would let me return it. But I gave it another chance, and my advice to any disappointed listeners or prospective buyers is to do the same.
