Great Noise Canceling, Great Sound, but DON't MOVE!!:

After reading plenty of reviews and hearing from people personally, I decided to go for these headphones instead of the pricier Bose ones.

I have to say, I've very pleased with these. THey are comfortable, and do a great job of sealing out outside sounds on its own, and are excellent for canceling out low frequency sounds.

However, if your in an environment that is not a huge low buzz of noise pollution, but a whir of high pitch (human voices, machines, etc), you won't get nearly the same benefit. The... more info

Middle of the line:

I bought these Sennheiser's after reading a recent CNET review that rated them "best" in this price range at both noise cancelation and overall sound quality. I have now tried them both in my office area and also on a very long flight to Europe. Overall, I have been pleased with the sound quality - but only when the "noise cancel" mode is ON. If it is not ON then the bass is very much lacking. I also had a chance to do a direct compare of these Sennheisers to the original Bose version while on my flight.... more info

I like this unit, it was a real help on a trip with some very inconsiderate people in the vicinity. With noise-cancelling on, it really helped pick out movie dialogue- it completely enhances your enjoyment of films on a plane. It also really improves the sound of music too, although on the flight I was on even the lowest volume setting was way too loud is some cases.
