The Dumbing Down Of Love:

In my own humble opinion, Frou Frou's 'Details' is the best album to come out (so far) in 2002 and is one of the best debuts I've ever heard before. I admit to being an eccentric music fan who's purchased quite a lot of CDs this year but Frou Frou's 'Details' is the one that I find myself listening to the most. And while everyone can compare Imogen Heap's darkly lavished vocals to the likes of Beth Orton and pop goddess Dido, Imogen's brooding and crooning has a sound that's delightfully her own. Wow! A Pop Masterpiece for our time!:

Frou Frou is Imogen Heap and Guy Sigsworth and the album is called Details. It is quite simply incredible. It contains all the elements of a pop masterpiece. Great vocals, great hooks, great production, and most importantly emotion which is easily distilled from the artist to the listener.

Imogen Heap is an incredible vocalist and she most closely resembles a Beth Orton with better vocal control. She has an amazing ability to jump between the octives and wrestle out great melodies from every note.

Worth Buying Album:

I tracked down this album after hearing the song Let Go in a preview for a movie. Let Go, the first track, sets a pretty good example of what else you'll be getting from the album. Great electronica-pop album. The only downside: 2 or 3 songs sound a little like the top ten radio countdowns.
