Very tasty and fresh:

Norah Jones certainly has received plenty of good press, but I felt I must voice my enthusiasm and pleasure with this record. The music is a wonderful mix of jazz, country and pop influences.

Norah's voice is very characteristic - "smokey and sweet." She's does not try to knock you over with vocal hystrionics like some of the current "divas," but rather draw you in with an understated sexy, yet vulnerable style that is completely refreshing...especially given the bulk of today's pop music direction.... more info

Something different, but...:

Having been coronated queen of the 2003 Grammies, Norah Jones has quite a challenge ahead to repeat her success with "Come Away with Me." As a freshman effort it shows promise, but does it truly deserve the accolades?

An eclectic blend of traditional jazz, pop, folk, and country, "Come Away with Me" features the type of sound found on those out-of-the-way, penturbian FM stations. GET AWAY FROM ME:

Cold, calculating, but ultimately callow Upper Middle Class pop jazz from an Ice Queen who sings with all the soul of a doorstop. If this is indeed Ravi Shankar's daughter, she inherited not one iota of her father's passion and artistry. Phony through and through.
