Yet again, Karin Kallmaker surprised me. Half of the book is written in first person, giving us the narrative of Faith Fitzgerald's unwilling attraction to her boyfriend's sister. Faith's story is alternated with Sydney Van Allen's. Sydney is running for political office and has a promiscuous past to live down. She's not looking for a relationship, and certainly not with her brother's almost fiancee. These two women are mature and focused, and very strong. DISAPPOINTED MIDDLE AND END.: 
I HAVE READ ABOUT 6 OR 8 LESBIAN ROMANCE NOVELS SO FAR. I DON'T CONSIDER MYSELF AN EXPERT. BUT I DO READ ALOT IN ADDITION TO LESBIAN ROMANCE. I FOUND I KEPT WAITING FOR MORE DEVELOPMENT OF THE CHARACTERS. THEY HARDLY GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER AND IT WASN'T A SMOOTH TRANSITION FROM ONE CHARACTER TO ANOTHER WHEN IT WAS THEIR TURN TO DO THE TALKING. I WILL GIVE ANOTHER KALLMAKER BOOK A CHANCE, BECAUSE OF THE SYNOPSIS. HOWEVER I HAVE READ A FEW OTHER AUTHORS THAT I WILL BE READING ALL THEIR MATERIAL, BECUASE OF... more info
Another Kallmaker Gem: 
I can't think of a single Kallmaker book that I haven't liked. I haven't read any of her mysteries, but I love her romance novels and this one is no exception. If you're a fan of Kallmaker's or you're just looking for a nice romance to curl up with, I think you'll probably enjoy this one.
