Enthralling... Davenport at his best.:
Short and sweet, that oft clich?d phrase, might be the most appropriate tag one can attach to this thin, rare volume. Merely fifteen pages in length, Davenport's usual style of not a word too many; none too few; is distilled even further into a tightly-packed work that defies the genres of "short story" or "prose poem" and simply begs to be accepted - and cherished gently - as it is. The author's four crafty illustrations, dispersed throughout, are appropriate and unobtrusive.
