First Book in the Dark Tower Series:

"The Gunslinger" was one of the first books I ever read by Stephen King (sometime in the early 90s), and even though it's not one of my favorites, it's still worth reading if you like King's fantasy novels. It takes place in another world where Roland, the gunslinger, pursues The Man in Black across dry, dangerous terrain, entering town after town and stumbling across various characters who will ultimately lead him to a mortal battle with The Man in Black.

A somewhat vague beginning to a promising epic:

At this point in time, the first five books of Stephen King's Dark Tower series have been released. I laid my eyes on the newest edition, Wolves of the Calla, this past weekend while at Waldenbooks. Having read The Dark Tower I: The Gunslinger about two months ago, I finally decided to review it since my trip to the bookstore revitalized the immense interest in me to read The Dark Tower series and find out just how the hell things will turn out.

Way to weird:

There have only been a few books that i never finished, but the Dunslinger was one of them. It was just so weird. King never told you what was happening. it's kinda like if you go into a movie halfway though it. Especially a fantasy one. I never got into it. i had no idea what was happening. read IT instead.
