Excellent companion to your Bible.:

"The Purpose Driven Life" was reccommended to me by (of all people) my mother. And a pastor-friend. And another friend (a seasoned Christian brother).

I logged on to Amazon to order a copy for my fiancee so that we can work through the book together as I'm just finishing my first time through and have been very surprised at the negativity other Christians have flung at the book and its author. I just don't get it.

This Is a Beatiful Journal, Perfect Companion:

For the dollar or two extra, this leather bound issue is worth the choice over the hard cover version. The quality of the journal is excellent. I am glad I odered it and not the regualr hard bound cover.
This journal goes perfectly with the book The Purpose Driven Life. At the top of each page it gives you points and questions to ponder/answer. Spiritual-lite, not Spiritual light:

Rick's book combines a feel-good touchie-feelie, "God is my buddy" with enough good theology to make it almost palatable. He bounces from translation to translation to get the wording that matches his own thought without regard to the Bible's own continuity. In his haste to make his point, he sometimes inverts cause and effect. There are many better books out there. Read this one if you must, but don't expect more than a diet of whipped cream.
