Defying Gravity is the story of a closeted frat boy. He?’s contentedly hiding his sexuality from everybody, including himself until the guy he should regard as his boyfriend gets fag-bashed.
At first his self-absorbed guilt is interesting. But watching him sit and be moody starts to pall. In a movie you need a little more incident that brooding silently.
Eventually he comes out of the closet and his (now) lover comes out of his coma. Another happy ending that?’d work in a romantic comedy but not a gay drama.
With more nice, caring, understanding college students than you?’ll ever meet in real life.
I?’m sucker and liked it anyway.
