Almost perfect.......:
This is the best mini-collections one can get of Ray's music. I think it's a crime that so many of our legends that are still living are virtually invisible, drowned out by the thunder-thump of some of the digital wizards that pretend to be musical artists today. There is one song I really like that wasn't included her. It's "You Don't Know Me" ("You give your hand to me....and then you say hello...."). This is the music of my early childhood, and it was played around my house along with Cannonball...

This one's a "Must Have":
It is hard to imagine a "serious" music collection that lacks a good sampling of black music, and this CD is about as good as it gets. Just listen to the songs here, and its easy to figure out why Georgia wanted Ray's version of "Georgia on my Mind" as its state song.This CD is not just a bunch of great songs, sung by a great artist: it's a virtual course in Rhythm and Blues and "roots" music (as in 'roots' of most of the rock and pop which was produced through the 1980's, and even some of today's...

A SAMPLER OF BROTHER-RAY'S BEST:
In 1967 I was stationed at Ft. Benning, Ga. after doing my 1 yr."tour" of Viet Nam. I needed a healthy dose of Soul to re-invent my lost spirits, so I bought a double-album by Ray called "Ray Charles, A Man And His Music", I liked that album so much I kept it, and played it quite often for over 35 yrs. Yikes am I gettin old! I finally gave it away to a friend cuz my record player went to Hell.
Anyway if you like Ray's music even a little bit I think you'll like "anthology" Here are a few of my picks in...more info
